Kindergarten Early Entrance Instructions
 
Early entrance for children younger than five years old on August 31

Note: The Early Entrance Policy has changed. Please read and follow these instructions carefully.

Underage children whose birthdays fall between September 1 and November 30 and whose parents believe them to be exceptionally qualified for early Kindergarten entrance may apply to the school district. Children whose fifth birthday falls after November 30 are not eligible for early entrance.

Instructions for Kindergarten Early Entrance
2009-2010
1. Apply for Early Entrance Kindergarten via the Early Entrance Office, or you can download the Early Entrance Packet here. Spring 2009
2. Submit the Early Entrance application and $25 screening fee to the Early Entrance Office, LWSD Resource Center, PO Box 97039, Redmond, WA 98073-9739. Checks should be made payable to Lake Washington School District. Parents who request a fee reduction will also need to complete a free and reduced lunch application. Application Deadline

3. Early Entrance screenings will be scheduled and completed on either one of two dates; families will receive a letter informing them of the date and time of their students screening. Screening will take place at the LWSD Resource Center, located at 16250 NE 74th St, Redmond, WA 98052 (in Redmond Town Center). By Appointment
4. If the student passes the screening, he/she will be invited to participate in a complete Early Entrance evaluation. Submit the $100 evaluation fee to the Early Entrance Office, LWSD Resource Center, P.O. Box 97039, Redmond, WA 98073-9739. Checks should be made payable to Lake Washington School District. Parents who request a fee reduction will also need to complete a free and reduced lunch application. Spring 2009
5. Early Entrance evaluations will be scheduled and completed on either one of two dates; families will receive a letter informing them of the date and time of their student’s evaluation. 6. Kindergarten Early Entrance results are sent to the school and to parents within two weeks of the evaluation. If your child qualifies, notify your neighborhood school of your decision regarding early entrance. Following evaluation
7. If you arrive in the district over the summer, there is another opportunity for testing. Fall Early Entrance assessment will take place at the LWSD Resource Center. Early Entrance screenings will be August 3, 4, or 5. Children that pass the screening will be invited to participate in a full evaluation on August 12, 13 or 14. Application deadline is

8. Fall Early Entrance results are sent to the neighborhood school and to parents. If your child qualifies, notify your neighborhood school of your decision right away. No later than
