Safety Tip Line Supports School Safety

The toll-free anonymous phone line (866) 548-3847 is available 24/7

Lake Washington School District (LWSD) has a Safety Tip Line where anyone is able to call the number and leave a message about any concern. The number is (866) 548-3847 or (866) LIVE-TIP. This SafeSchools LifeLine is completely anonymous and toll-free. Students, parents and community members can access the phone number at any time of day or night whenever they want to alert schools about a potential crisis.

Callers may want to alert school or district administration about:

  • school violence – weapons, bomb threats
  • school damage – vandalism, arson, theft
  • physical and sexual abuse or harassment
  • drug and alcohol issues
  • fights
  • potential suicide
  • gang activity
  • discrimination

Upon dialing the number, callers are asked to enter the LWSD code (156). There is the option to leave an anonymous message or to speak to an operator, who is trained to take immediate action. To leave a message, choose Lake Washington School District from the directory. Voices are not recorded. Non-emergency calls are transcribed and sent directly to a designated school authority within 24 hours. All callers are assigned a code, which gives the caller the opportunity to call back to check on the status of the issue.
