An even better deal for those who qualify
Depending on your family income and size, your student may qualify for free or reduced price meals. To apply for free or reduced price meals:

Note: Children of parents who qualify for Basic Food, formerly known as food stamps, are automatically enrolled in the free lunch program. Income limits for this program rose in October 2008 and more families may be eligible. For more information, go to www.foodhelp.wa.gov.

Pay for meals through a lunch account
There are four ways to add money to a student’s lunch account:

  1. Set up an automatic monthly withdrawal from your checking account by filling out an Automated Clearing House (ACH) Withdrawal Form. If you cannot print out the form, you can pick up a form from your child’s school office. After filling out the form completely, mail it to:

  2. LWSD Food Services
    PO Box 97039
    Redmond, WA 98073-9739

Funds added via ACH will become available on the sixth or seventh of each month.

  3. Send a check or cash to the school office with your child’s name attached.

  4. Charge your Visa or MasterCard by calling the Food Services office:
    (425) 702–3393

  5. Charge your Visa or MasterCard online through the secure Parent Access site. If you would like step by step instructions for using this secure site, see our online payments page.

Phone message system alerts parents when lunch account gets low
We have recently implemented a phone-messaging program to alert parents when their student’s lunch account is low or negative on funds. Most calls are made when an account becomes negative $1.00 or more.

There is a day of lag time between crediting an account and updating the message program. Here is why: Accounts that have been credited during the day are communicated during the night so that student accounts are ready for the next day. The message program receives updated balances during the afternoon, so that day’s credit has not yet been posted. If you receive a call the evening after crediting a student account, you can ignore it. However, if you receive a call two days after crediting an account, please alert us by calling (425) 702–3393.

If you wish to be taken off the list or would prefer to receive notifications via e-mail, please call in your request so that we may confirm your information. Please note that we cannot guarantee that your child will receive a whole lunch should their account balance show insufficient funds.
