Juanita High School Student Earns Executive Women International Scholarship
| On Tuesday, June 16, Juanita High School junior Amanda Ly was awarded a $1500 scholarship from the Executive Women International Scholarship Program (EWISP). She was one of three finalists out of a pool of 40 students who applied for this scholarship. She represented JHS well and was commended by the international organization for her efforts. Amanda, her parents, and Laurie Chesley, the English and social studies teacher at JHS who nominated Amanda for the scholarship, attended the dinner and ceremony held at the Columbia Towers in Seattle. |

Redmond High School Junior’s Research Paper to be Published
Alex Vaschillo, a junior at Redmond High School, just found out that his scientific paper was accepted to be presented at the Conference of the Society for Psychophysiological Research held in Berlin, Germany in October. In addition, it will be published in the journal Psychophysiology. The title of his scientific paper is “Rhythmical Muscle Tension and Resonance in the Cardiovascular System.” His research was supported, in part, by the Northwest Academy of Sciences, the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, and the National Institute of Drug Abuse.
