Regular daily attendance is required. Illness and unique circumstances
may constitute legitimate excuses for absence. In such circumstances, the
school must be appropriately informed by the parent or guardian or the student
if he/she is of age and living apart from parent or guardian. Such communication
should be in person, by telephone or in writing and within forty-eight hours
following the absence.
In consultation with parent or guardian or the student who is of age
and living apart from parent or guardian, the principal shall determine
whether or not excessive absence is justified. If a student is judged to
be truant, the principal shall take the necessary action to comply with
state laws.
