Gifts, Donations and Bequests

The superintendent or designee may accept on behalf of and for the school district any bequest or donations of money of up to $1,000 or property up to the limits of the bid law for a purpose deemed by the superintendent or designee to be suitable, and to utilize such money for property so designated.

The board may accept on behalf of and for the school district any bequest, or donations of money, or property which exceeds the limits as set forth above.

The superintendent shall set up criteria to be met in the acceptance of donations, and the procedure for examining and evaluating offers of gifts to the district.

All gifts shall be given to the school district as a whole, and not to a particular school. At the discretion of the superintendent, the donations may be used in a particular school.
